How to reach us
The Workshop will take place in Building G at Campus Grifflenberg of the University of Wuppertal. A plan of the campus can be found here: Plan of Campus Grifflenberg

You can reach the campus either by bus or foot:

By Bus from the main station:
Starting from the main station you get to the bus station by walking through the pedestrian underpass towards the city center. The bus station is at the end of the pedestrian underpass. All buses which stop at the university leave from platform 6. Take one of the buses 615 or 645 from the main station. Leave the bus at the bus stop „Universität“. The Station is underneath the lecture building. You enter the building through the main entrance ("Haupteingang"). You are now on level 8. Follow the signs to the conference.The lecture theater ("Hörsaal 8", Room G.10.03) is on level 10 directly above the main entrance.

Remarks:
1) Participants staying at the InterCity Hotel or the Central-Hotel receive a ticket for free use of local buses, regional buses and regional trains, in particular free use of the sky train ("Schwebebahn").
2) In all buses in Wuppertal you have to show your ticket by entering the bus.

By foot from the main station:
Starting in front of the main station facing the main station you walk to the right along the railway. After about 400m there is on the left side abig bridge across the railway. You walk across the railway on that bridge onto the street
"Kleeblatt". About 50m after the bridge you turn right onto the street "Unterer Grifflenberg". Walk along that street up the hill until the street bends to the right. At that point you continue to walk strait on a bridge that crosses a big street. At the end of the bridge you face a children’s playground and behind the playground a big bridge for pedestrians.
Get onto that bridge and walk on that bridge twice across the street. At the end of the bridge starts a path with a series of stairways. Follow that path and the stairs up the hill. You walk along the "Mensa" building ME on the right hand side and beneath the libary building BZ. This path leads you to building G. Enter the building through the
main entrance ("Haupteingang"). You are now on level 8. Follow the signs to the conference. The lecture theater ("Hörsaal 8", Room G.10.03) is on level 10 directly above the main entrance.
Remarks:
1) It takes about 15-20 minutes to walk from the main station to the university.
2) The vertical height between the city center and the university is about 100m.


From the main station to Central-Hotel and InterCity Hotel
Both hotels are in walking distance of the main station, see city map. The map also provides some recommendations for restaurants in the city center. 


From the airport
Wuppertal has no own airport in the city. The airports in the near area are
These airports allow for direct connections to several international airports.

Train connection from the airports

Once you have arrived at Cologne/Bonn airport ("Köln/Bonn"), you could take the tram to go to Cologne central station ("Köln Hauptbahnhof"), this takes about 15 minutes. From that point you could take the train to the central station of Wuppertal ("Wuppertal Hauptbahnhof"). This takes about 30 minutes by intercity-express (ICE), and approximately 45 minutes by regional train (RB48).

Once you have arrived at Düsseldorf airport, you can also take the train to go to the central station ("Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof") of Düsseldorf, e.g. the regional train S1 in direction of "Solingen Hauptbahnhof"; this takes about 10 minutes. From Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof you can take the regional train RE4 to the central station of Wuppertal (this takes about 25 minutes).

Once you have arrived at Frankfurt airport, you can take an intercity-express (ICE) to Wuppertal central station ("Wuppertal Hauptbahnhof"). There is a connection once per hour which takes about 1 hours and 30 minutes where sometimes you have to change trains in cologne main station ("Köln Hauptbahnhof"), see above.

Once you have arrived at Weeze airport, you could take the bus 73air to Kevelaer station, this takes about 16 minutes. From that point you could take the train to Düsseldorf central station ("Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof"). This takes about 60 minutes by NordWestBahn.
Another possibility would be to take Bus SW1 in the direction of Weeze Bahnhof, which takes about 7 minutes. From there you can go to Düsseldorf central station with the NordWestBahn. This takes about 70 minutes.
From the central station in Düsseldorf ("Düsseldorf Hauptbahnhof") you can take the regional train RE4, see above.
