Research project "Environment for parameter identification and sensitivity analysis"

(Umgebung für Parameteridentifikation und Sensitivitätsanalyse)

Researchers

Christian H. Bischof
H. Martin Bücker
Bruno Lang
Arno Rasch
Jakob W. Risch

Duration and funding

October 1999 to August 2002, funded by Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft as subproject C5 of the Collaborative Research Center SFB 540

Description

In this project an environment has been developed that allows the coupling of simulation codes and numerical optimizers and thus enables automated parameter fitting or optimization. To provide the derivative information needed by the optimizer, two major simulation codes (SEPRAN, FLUENT) have been extended by means of automatic differentiation.
